Pictures From Las Vegas

This is how Toni Jo greeted me at the airport!

This was our first dinner - lobsters!

On Saturday night, Lara and Sonja came over for a Christmas dinner party.

We started with gazpacho. Then we had roasted lamb chops, scampi prawns, roasted sweet potatoes with butternut squash, sautéed green beans with ginger and garlic, and a few salads. We opened our Christmas present, and then ate a gluten free homemade cherry pie. Words can't do justice to the good time had by all!

This is the mountain range just behind Toni Jo's house.

This is Luci! She likes playing hide and seek!

Ethel M is the factory that makes M&M candies. On Sunday, Toni Jo, Sonja, and I went to the Light Garden at Ethel M's!

How cool I saw Frosty here, and I'll see him in ICE at the National Harbor.

The Bellagio decorates for every season, and the decorations for Christmas are beautiful!

We ate dinner at this lovely café! The Bellagio is the perfect way to cap off Christmas, Las Vegas style!

Christmas in Las Vegas is just as beautiful as it is in DC; however, the weather is much nicer! It’s been like early Fall 62 to 70 degrees. I hope to do this again soon!

Nya – Guess where I am

Hi, Nya! I’m having a blast in Vegas. So far, I’ve hosted two dinner parties. Okay well the first one was not really mines, but my friend Toni Jo. She had some friends over for dinner to thank them for helping when her computer died a few weeks ago. For dinner on Thursday night we had lamb stew. I made it, and it was my first time ever making it. It had lamb (of course), carrots, potatoes, parsnips, and tomatoes over rice – they all ate crusted bread, and I didn’t. Then for dessert we had a gluten free (gf) brownie, and they had icebut I didn’t. 🙂

Saturday, Sonja came from California! Sonja says, “Hi Nya! I miss you!” Then our friend, Lara Endorf, came over, and we had another dinner party, and exchange Christmas presents! It was too much fun! I’ll post some pictures in my next post! For dinner we  had lamb chops, shrimp scampi, roasted sweet potatoes with butternut squash, sauteed green beans, quinoa salad, and corn salad. SOOOOO good! I cooked everything. For dessert we had a gf cherry pie. I realize that cherry pie is a favorite dessert. I made the pie crust myself. I have found a new gf flour that I’m enjoying!!

Today (Sunday), we missed church, and had the opportunity to just hang out at Toni Jo’s house. 🙂 It was as so nice to just hang out, and do nothing! Do you know how much I LOVE doing nothing? 🙂 Then around 4pm we left home for the Ethel M’s Catus Garden (that’s when I texted you the picture). Aw, the garden was so lovely! And, I bought a ton of candy! But none for us – you and me. After we left the garden we went to Cafe Bellagio where I had a corned beef ruben on gf bread, a cucumber martini, and a trio creme bruele dessert! Yummy!

So, tomorrow (Monday) Sonja goes back home to Cali, but not before we run a bunch of errand for Toni Jo. I’ve enjoyed spending time with her! She has told the funniest stories about Rose’s blue tongue lizard. I don’t think we’ll be going back to Sonja house for a while! 🙂

Well, that’s what I’ve been up to on my Vegas trip so far. I’ll keep you posted on other things I do throughout the week I’m here! I leave on Saturday! 🙂

Love you!
