A note to myself

Today, I’m reminded of the Humpty Dumpty poem; especially the line that says, “and all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn’t put Humpty together again.” Well, a beloved sister and I have reached an impasse where sin has occurred on both sides of the schism, and it seems that things will never be right between us again. My heart feels like it’s been put through a confetti paper shredder. And you know, even if you tape a shredded page back together, it’s not the same.

As, I’ve been spending time reflecting on how I’ve sinned in this situation, I’ve come to realize what is wrong with the Humpty Dumpty poem; the King (capital K) could have put Humpty together again. The same with my shredded heart. The King of Kings can take my broken heart (which He knows very well, since He created it) and not only put it back together, but make it brand new even. He can take this schism between my sister and I and make a bridge for us to meet safely in the middle. He can make our relationship better than it was before. The key to all of this is Him.

Note to self: remember you are never forsaken, and never alone. Your Father in heaven loves  you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to carry all of your sins to the cross, and sacrifice His life there to make you clean. Therefore, don’t focus on your circumstances, but on the fact (as Casting Crowns put it): “Living He loved me, Dying He saved me, Buried He carried my sins far away, Rising He justified and freely forever!”

My focus is on you King Jesus!

I am the most fickled person I know. One day, I’m this way; the next I’m that. I expect my husband to know which way I am, and then I get mad because he figured it out, and I change up on him.

Thank God that by his very nature he will never change. If he said it, it will be. If he promised it, you can count on it. And, he NEVER, I really mean NEVER forgets what he said. The bible says: (The Message) 2 Peter 3:8-9 Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.

Praise God that in his loving kindness to us he is holding back the End. I have many family members and friends that I have yet to share the gospel with, and I would like to have that opportunity. Again here is another way that I’m fickle, and honestly it’s a clear fear of man thing; therefore, I’m sadly timid about sharing the good news of Christ. I get caught up in pondering who will remain my friend, and what will my family think of me. Yet, I’m torn because I really do believe in what I believe, and wish I had some clear way of sharing with the understanding that I’m just sharing. If I came across a good book, recipe, etc., I’d share in a heartbeat. But it’s hard for me to share: (King James Version) Luke 2:8-14 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
