It doesn’t sound right without that O at the end. You know, “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?” Okay maybe you don’t; so just trust me. The O is necessary! 🙂

It’s been a minute since I last wrote, and looking at my last post I must quote one of my FAVORITE movies, “Oh no, how can you play without someone to turn the page.” Do you know that one – it’s A&E’s Pride & Prejudice. Elizabeth said it to Miss Darcy. Okay, I’m through with trying to be cleaver this morning. But my thought in sharing this quote is just that I left you with such a weighty post and no follow up. Well, here we go!

I was on travel most to June. I spent some time in Atlanta, my first time ever there, and I had a GREAT time. I got to meet some dynamic people at the Frasernet PowerNetworking Conference. Then I spent some time in Richmond, VA. I got to see my aunt and uncle I haven’t seen in 12 years. (Shame on me. No one should be that busy that they don’t see beloved relatives in 12 years.) It was a great visit.

Then I came home to spend my first night at NIH to kick start my participation in the sleep/weight study. I stayed over night and was bored out of my mind. I should preference, they kept me busy during the day hours, but I was bored in the evening time when I was finally left alone. I started falling asleep at 8:30pm. It’s truly something how going away can make me tired, but staying home 8:30pm would have just been the beginning of my nightly activities that last well into the wee hours of the morning. 🙂 All in all it was great fun, except the next morning they took so much blood I wondered if I they were vampires. 🙂 I had to do this awful glucose test for two hours. I can’t wait to hear the results of it next week. I’ll let you know if I’m borderline diabetic or something.

So, the $7000 tax bill, what’s up with that?! Well, it’s still around. 🙂 We were trying to see if IRS would drop any of the penalties – they won’t. But they said they did waive some $2000 for additional tax penalty. We are thankful for that favor.

I contemplated getting a job, just to get from under this tax bill, the other debt, and the one to come from the state of Maryland (they’ll have to modify our 2008 return as well – so it’s coming). But then one of my clients asked if I would take on some additional responsibilities. I agreed, and she gave me a generous increase. This increase will allow me to continue to work in the style for which I’ve grown accustomed, and to get the debt down a little quicker. My hubby and I are being creative about other ways to reduce expenses. So far, we’ve only come up with getting rid of our house phone. We’ve had several serious conversations about selling our house and moving closer to the city and into an apartment. This really would be a very GOOD thing to do. God will have to work on my heart, as I’ve grown so fond of my little house. Perhaps he is, and that is why this option keeps popping up every time we chat about ways to eliminate debt.

So as I told you before, there is nothing to worry about; God is at the helm. He can truly navigate our lives better than we can. Trust him.
