I had my IRS tax audit yesterday, and just as I suspected we owe. We owe $7,000 plus change. This is only the beginning because now the State will review our 2008 taxes, and we’ll owe them as well. However, I’m standing on many of the promises of God – 1: He will not leave me nor forsake me, 2: If God is for you, who can be against you, and 3: Draw nearer to God, and he’ll draw nearer to you!

I’m encouraged, hopeful, and truly have peace about this. If by the grace of God, Ryan and I can see $60,000 dwindle down to $27,000 in two years surely God has a way for us to deal with $7,000. 1Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” The victory in this situation, as in all of them, goes to our Lord!

I will continue to operating under the promise of not worrying and not complaining!

In April I did 30 Days of Permission, and that was so great for me. In essence I gave myself permission to be me. 🙂 Then in May I did 31 Days of Promises. This was much harder for me. Perhaps the promises were harder, because they were coming straight from the word of God, and convicting me. Many of them were an encouragement, and I will treasure those verses. However, the ones that convicted me, and encouraged me to take a closer look at the sin that lives in me, gave me reason to pause and acknowledge that I couldn’t just write a promise a day. I really needed to meditate on the promises I did make. And, to be perfectly honest with myself, I could stay on Day 26’s promise for the rest of my life. The people pleaser in me, struggles with telling people the truth.

What’s next? I’ve decided to do a few things: 1) I’m participating in 30 Days of Deepening Friendship in a one-on-one setting, 2) Moving on to my 30 Days of Prayers via blog posts, and 3) I’m going to continue to post inspirational messages that move me.

So, keep reading!
