My friend Angela and I went on a business retreat a few weeks back. While reflecting on our businesses and planning for the second quarter, Angela started thumbing through my copy of Get Clients Now, by C. J. Hayden. Within the book, the author tells you to give yourself permission to accomplish certain tasks. Angela and I took that thought one step further, and decided to do 30 Days of Permission.
Day 1: I give myself permission to work on Nonprofit Connectors (NPC) during the week.
At the present time, I’m a virtual assistant launching a new consultant service assisting individuals and groups who want to start a nonprofit. I’m having fun learning, growing, and building NPC from the ground up. However, I don’t have much time carved out to create and develop new products throughout the week. Well, I’m giving myself permission to schedule NPC into my weekly schedule on Thursdays from 1pm to 2:30pm. Originally during this time slot, I was taking Toni Jo Artz CPCPI System class to work on identifying and marketing to NPC’s target market; the class is finished. So, this was an easy one!
I’ll continue to use the time allotted for working on NPC in the first place.
I like giving myself permission to do things, and I find that I respond proactively to permissions. So, this is going to be a fun, exciting, and productive month!
[...] Bonus: My friend Antonette and I are initiating a new write-a-day program. For April – 30 Days of Permissions. If you’re on Facebook, post your daily permissions throughout the month. Today I give myself permission to spoil Marcel this weekend. Find out more here http://lifebeyondtheoffice.com/2010/04/01/day-1-working-npc-during-the-week/ [...]
Aaaaaaaaaaa!
I love how you give yourself permission to speak and love your friends authentically—I love you for that!
I give myself permission to reach out and ask for what I need. You helped me to get here!
Love you to the moon and back!
I am learning that when you love someone you speak the truth to them in love. Thanks for letting me love you!
Vugs to you, babe!
[...] you remember, this whole 30 Days of Permissions started with C. J. Hayden’s book. So, how appropriate that the month would end with this permission. [...]
